Casement Windows

No obstructive railings, easy hand-crank open, and interior screens make these windows perfect for installation in virtually any area of the home.

Casement Window

A casement window is hinged at the side and opens outward like a door. It looks like a picture window because unlike double hung or sliding windows, a casement window has no rail. Some casement windows are simply pushed open, but most have a hand crank. Screens are placed on the inside of the window, where they're more protected from the elements. If you're installing windows over a sink, countertop or appliance, a casement window with a crank can be the perfect solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great and easy to install Replaced some 78 year old double hung wooden windows with the ultra casement windows. First and foremost the double pane argon gas windows are fantastic, keeps temperature in the house and and cold or hot air out and from a design standpoint they are simply stunning

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wood clad is beautiful window Installed 3 years ago the windows are still beautiful. The service has been both effective and prompt. The fiberglas frames still look new and the protection from weather is still rock solid. The ability to get both the wood clad and color finished fiberglas interiors with the same exterior frame color was a key choosing both Milgard and our window style.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from beautiful, but at least 2 of the screens are defective Happy to have casement windows to replace 25 year old wood casements. Very handsome and seem to be well made, but at least 2 of the screens have screening that has come loose along the edge, will need to be replaced.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Installation was quick and the windows look great! We had to replace 6 windows in the front of our house and I hired a contractor to select and install them. The old windows had a wooden lattice between the two panes and we wanted to keep the same look in the new windows. The windows, with a lattice, are very attractive and cost was significantly less than than replacing with the old manufacturer's windows. The only problem we incurred was the width of the window is 1/4" smaller than the old window and will require 3 new blinds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Attractive windows. A bit early to review this product as they were just installed. However it is an attractive window with what appears to be good quality, and function as advertised.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product has great features. We ordered 9 windows (two of which were 120"x60") most were casement windows. We chose Milgard becaause we have used them in other custonm homes. This was the only time that we had 2 defective casement windows. The Milgard technician was able to correct one casement with adjustments on site but the other casement (68"x48") had a defect in the casement window panel which was bowed out. I have sent pictures to Soco Windows in Austin. This caused the tech. to crack the window when he tried to repair it on site. All the other windows work well in opening & closing. The bow caused the window not to close completely as the bow made the upper right corner not to make contact with the upper locking mechanism. Thus this window panel will have to be replaced. This is new construction so we must proceed with final stuccoing of the house to meet construction deadline and owner occupancy by August 31st.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Casement Window Latch Alignment I ordered four Essence casement windows. Every one of the window's latches did not line up with the latch hardware on the window's frame to allow the window to close properly with the hand crank It was not a coincidence since all the windows were misaligned. There is something wrong in the manufacturing process that does not verify the latches are properly aligned. The picture below shows how the Milgard service technician had to move each latch.
