Milgard Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

The health and well-being of our team members, customers, and local communities is our top priority. During these rapidly evolving and uncertain times, Milgard is actively monitoring communications from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization, and the various State Departments of Public Health to ensure our teams are meeting or exceeding the latest recommendations outlined by these health and safety experts. 

Service Appointment Precautions

Milgard Service Technicians are adhering to CDC guidelines for preventive care when performing their service visit. If you have an illness or any of the following symptoms related to Coronavirus (COVID-19): Fever and/or cough or difficulty breathing, we ask that you contact us at 1-800-MILGARD to reschedule your appointment.

While performing service, our technicians will:

  • Adhere to CDC guidelines for preventative care, and use enhanced safety protocol.
  • Wear face coverings, safety gloves, and glasses at all times.
  • Service Technicians will maintain at least a 6-foot distance from homeowners.
  • If a homeowner is presenting symptoms of illness, our Service Technicians will stop the appointment and work with supervisors to get the appointment rescheduled. This is for everyone’s safety.

Enhanced Health & Safety Protocols

Milgard Manufacturing has been identified as an essential business and all manufacturing facilities are currently open and operating.

All Milgard locations comply with the guidance and directives issued by the CDC for social distancing, and we have implemented enhanced cleaning procedures and limited physical contact among our team and essential suppliers within our facilities to mitigate the risk associated with the Coronavirus.

Workplace Safety Procedures

We have implemented several actions specific to our business meant to address the growing Coronavirus concern.

  • Face coverings are required
  • Temperature checks taken before each shift
  • Social distancing measures
  • Limiting business-related air travel 
  • Taking steps to reschedule non-essential customer visits and plant tours
  • Limiting face-to-face vendor and workplace meetings
  • Constantly monitor our workplace cleaning standards by following industry best practices and Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations
  • Display information from the CDC on virus transmission prevention throughout our facilities
  • Place hand sanitizers throughout our facilities
  • Adjust break times where possible to limit team member congregation
  • Replace face-to-face meetings with virtual meetings
  • Postpone interviews
  • Require team members who are sick to stay home and contact their supervisors prior to returning to work.

Enhanced Cleaning Protocols 

Milgard is utilizing enhanced cleaning procedures throughout our facilities.

  • The cleaning staff has adjusted to more frequent cleanings of common areas such as disinfecting all high-volume touch points including door handles, light fixtures, time clocks, chair arms, printer touch points, vending buttons, phones, etc.
  • Enhanced cleaning is happening throughout our production areas as well. Supervisors, safety team, and committees will work together with the production team members to provide basic direction and access to all necessary supplies.
  • Common production touch points, such as adjustment levers, start and stop buttons, handles, keypads, and keyboards are being disinfected before each shift by each production team member.
