Fiberglass Windows and Patio Doors Shine in the New Idea Home
From innovative to elegant, Parade of Homes has it all. It’s a great way to view designer homes and see what some of Denver’s best craftsman builders are creating today.
Located in the heart of Denver’s Cory-Merrill neighborhood, the “New Idea Home” was designed to meet the needs of a growing family, active adults, empty nesters, or a four generation household.
The 6,100 square foot home was developed with a modern-urbanist style and features 25 rooms including five complete bedroom, bathroom, and closet suites plus three additional rooms that can be converted into bedroom/bathroom suites. Each of the four living levels has outdoor recreational areas from which to enjoy private solace or festive occasions with family and friends.
One of the highlights to this property is the “accessible-ready” option, which allow the home to be converted to full disabled access if future residents chose to age in place and have special needs.
The project was constructed by Jackson Design Build, a respected custom home builder in Colorado. Built in accordance with Universal Design standards, the home includes: wide traffic areas (staircases, doors, and hallways); wheelchair accessible bathrooms; stair-free access to enter the home; a dedicated location for a four-level elevator installation (if required); ENERGY STAR certification to save on energy costs; and, Indoor airPLUS certification to ensure a clean indoor air environment.
The builder chose Milgard® Windows & Doors for the durability of the product, attention to quality and aftermarket customer support with their Full Lifetime Warranty. The home contains UltraTM Series fiberglass windows and Essence Series® Patio Doors which have a fiberglass exterior and wood interior. The choice of a bold, exterior color in Cinnamon really added to the design aesthetic. The addition of so many windows and doors in the design allow a lot of light to fill the home, making it a warm and inviting residence.
